Profile files, or just Profiles, allow you to keep multiple sets of options. For example, for one type of observation you might use the sound card at 10 samples/second and for another type you may want to use channel 2 of an ADC at a different rate. To create a Profile, set all of the options the way you want them for a particular type of observation and then select File / Save Profile. Select a file name that is recognizable such as "magnetometer.spp" for a magnetometer setup, and then save it. Loading a profile can simply be accomplished by choosing File / Load Profile and selecting the appropriate file. Profiles may also be loaded from the Options / Misc. panel where 5 quick settings buttons are available.
Profiles can also be loaded automatically for charts that are on a restart schedule.
Not all parameters are saved in Profiles. For example, chart colors and many of the sound recorder parameters are not saved. Below is the contents of a Profile from which you may deduce many of the parameters saved.
