View Menu Options

The drop down View menu opens a large array of menu option which define the appearance of the sky map. Several of the options have sub-menus.

Radio Sources (submenus)
Show Sources - Toggles on and off the display of discrete radio source from a catalog file.
Source File - Load a new radio source catalog file (_RE.dat).
Min Flux - Defines the minimum flux that the source must have in order to be displayed.

Pulsars (submenus)
Show Pulsars - Toggles on and off the display of pulsar objects on the sky map.
Pulsar Filters - Brings up the Pulsar Filter display to allow setting parameters for which pulsars will be displayed.

Background (submenus)
Show Background - Toggles on and off the display of the background image on the sky map.
Background File - Load a new background file and associated .RET file into the sky map.
Show Background FITS Header - Displays the information in the original FITS header that was used to create the background's .RET file.

Horizon (submenus)
Show Horizon - Toggles on and off the display of the horizon line on the sky map.
Use Horizon File - Toggles the use of a horizon file in defining the horizon. If no horizon file is used the horizon is assumed to be at altitude = 0 degrees.
Load Horizon File - Select and load a horizon file that the defines the local horizon.
Edit Horizon File - Edit or create a horizon file using the horizon file editor tool.

Grid (submenus)
Show RADEC Grid - Toggles on and off the display of the right ascension and declination grid lines on the sky map.
Show Elevation Grid - Toggles on and off the display of the elevation (altitude) grid lines on the sky map.
Show Azimuth Grid - Toggles on and off the display of the azimuth grid lines on the sky map.

Labels (submenus)
Show Labels  - Toggles on and off the display of defined labels on the sky map.
Select Labels - Brings up a select labels dialog box where you can quickly chose which labels to display.
Edit Labels - Brings up the label editor which allows you to modify label content and appearance.
Clear All Labels - Deletes all labels from the sky map.

Planets (submenus)
Show All - Displays all of the major planets.
Show Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, etc. may be individually selected for display.

Show Dome View - (Shortcut CTRL+D) -  - Toggles on and off the display of the Dome View on the sky map.

Show Stars
- Toggles on and off the display of  optical stars on the sky map.

Show Constellations - Toggles on and off the display of constellation lines

Show Meridian - Toggles on and off the display of the meridian line on the sky map.

Show Galactic Equator - Toggles on and off the display of the galactic equator line on the sky map.

Show Sun - Toggles on and off the display of the Sun on the sky map.

Show Moon - Toggles on and off the display of the Earth's Moon on the sky map.

Show Beam - (Shortcut F6) - Toggles on and off the display of the antenna beam pattern on the sky map. The antenna beam pattern is defined elsewhere.

Show Ecliptic - Toggles on and off the display of the ecliptic line on the sky map.

JPL Ephemeris Track - Once a JPL Ephemeris Track has been loaded, this toggles off an on the tracks visibility.
