The following wave files were recorded by Dick Flagg and Jim Sky at the 1999 SARA conference in Green Bank West Virginia at the National Radio Astronomical Observatory. These recordings were made using the replica of the Jansky antenna which stands at the entrance to the observatory.
The receiver was Dick's design for the Radio Jove project, and was tuned just above 20 MHz. The tape recorder was not directly connected to the receiver, that is, the sound was recorded via the built in microphone and thus background noises of a non-cosmic nature may be heard. In real life the bursts were somewhat more distinct, however, if you listen closely, you should still be able to pick them out.
