CML - Io Phase Plot

This unique display shows a where Jupiter is tracking within the conceptual plane defined by central meridian longitude (CML) and Io Phase (where Io is in its orbit). These two parameters are the heart of the prediction program.  The concept of the plane was introduced to me by Jim Thieman and Chuck Higgins of NASA's Radio Jove Project. CML is the horizontal axis and Io Phase the vertical. Lighter and colored areas represent higher probabilities of noise storm occurrence. Not many options here..just whether or not you want to display the angle indicators on the border.

The Jupiter track is in white for times it is above the horizon and blue for periods when it is below the horizon. Dotted track indicates the following day.
