Come here to check to see if you have the latest version, pick up tips, see answers to recent trouble reports, and hear what is going on with Radio Eyes users. __________________________________________________________ Version 1.5.7 ATNF pulsar files are automatically updated when you restart RE. The current version can be seen shown by selecting View / Pulsars. The JPL Ephemeris tool now converts the file to Windows text. The JPL downloads have changed to Unix text format. http://radiosky.com/radioeyes/radioeyes1_update_1_5_7.exe ___________________________________________________________ Version 1.5.5 This update fixes a problem with the catalog creation tool that prevented auto-naming of sources. http://radiosky.com/radioeyes/radioeyes1_update_1_5_5.exe ___________________________________________________________ Version 1.5.3 This update includes the new option to create off meridian drift scan tables. A new serial port component was added that should be more reliable than the MScomm component. This may be helpful if you have had trouble with your custom serial port interface to your rotators. The information screens now display Longitude E or W as preferenced on your Observer menu. http://radiosky.com/radioeyes/radioeyes1_update_1_5_3.exe ___________________________________________________________ Version 1.5.1 This update includes tracking tables for off-meridian transits. Fixed printed tracking table to include all columns. http://radiosky.com/radioeyes/radioeyes1_update_1_5_1.exe ___________________________________________________________ Version 1.4.22 Improved accuracy for the moon position. The position now agrees with JPL Horizons to within a few arc-seconds. Updated the Pulsar Catalog to ATNF version 1.56 http://radiosky.com/radioeyes/radioeyes_update_1_4_22.exe ___________________________________________________________ Version 1.4.21 Flux now appears as a parameter in the Drift Scan Table. Drift Scan Table is now sizable, List of objects returned when you click on the screen is now sorted by Flux (Decending). Main screen now remembers it's last position and size. http://radiosky.com/radioeyes/radioeyes_update_1_4_21.exe ___________________________________________________________ Version 1.4.18 This update fixes a number of minor bugs. http://radiosky.com/radioeyes/radioeyes_update_1_4_18.exe ___________________________________________________________ Version 1.4.0 -Added Galactic coodinates. These are visible in new labels at the bottom of the window labeled Gal Lng and Gal Lat. -Galactic coordinates appear in the More Info window for objects. -Added Aspect control under View. On some computers, the bottom labels may be partially obscured. Use the slider to adjust the window height to reveal hidden labels. http://radiosky.com/radioeyes/radioeyes_update_1_4_0.exe ________________________________________________________________ Version 1.3.16 - Fixed bug in telescope control. - Fixed pulsar search crash. - Updated ATNF pulsar catalog. - New version of TCPP app fixes sequencing issue. http://radiosky.com/radioeyes/exe/radioeyes_update_1_3_16.exe ___________________________________________________________ Version 1.3.12 This update fixes problems associated with registering the software so that it will accept passwords provided by Radio-Sky Publishing. If you are having trouble applying your password. Please download this update. This update includes a newer version of the Control Point program which will correct some problems with communications with Radio-SkyPipe. Fixes problem where two copies of the Control Point program are started. http://radiosky.com/radioeyes/exe/radioeyes_update_1_3_12.exe ________________________________________________________ This update also includes major changes implemented in version 1.3.0 shown below: Changes include the following: New Demo version does not expire but instead implements a few limitations. Telescopes can now be unloaded and loaded automatically after initial setup. The new PstRotator driver allows you to connect to many different types of rotators using the PstRotator program by YO3DMU http://www.qsl.net/yo3dmu/index_Page346.htm Other recent changes include a new version of the Telescope Control Point Program. An Always-On-Top feature added to Object Watches will make obsolete any Watches you may have saved. The Help area for the Serial Driver has been updated. There has been some misunderstanding about this driver. It is intended for use by people who are designing their own antenna controllers and want to use a serial connection scheme to the computer. To aid in testing I uploaded an open source VB6 program that can be used to emulate a simple controller connected this way. The URL: http://radiosky.com/radioeyes/help/generalized_serial_driver_for_re.htm __________________________________________ Pulsar Spectra It has come to my attention that most pulsars suffer a decrease in flux below some given frequency (110 MHz or lower). The flux cannot then be approximated at these lower frequencies from the ATNF Pulsar Catalog data from which the Radio Eyes database is drawn. Until another source of flux data becomes available for these lower frequencies, a warning will be displayed on the Plot Flux chart. __________________________________________________________ RE HINTS CTRL+F brings up the Find tool. CTRL+D brings up and closes the Dome View. You may sort sources in the Select Source List by clicking on the column headers. For example, click the Flux header to sort the results by intensity. Clicking it a second time sorts the list in the other direction! If an Active Label has a Redirect URL specified, then double clicking the label will bring up the page in your browser.
